2016 Highlights
During the hours spent in the field photographing birds, I began to appreciate the importance of studying up on species behavior; migratory patterns; nesting habits; plumage differences between breeding and non-breeding seasons; and all the other little details that help inform the photograph I might be about to capture.
I also realized the importance of documenting birds I saw while on a photography session. I began entering birding lists on eBird, hoping to make a small contribution to the citizen science efforts of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. I've become slightly addicted with adding birds to my 'life list'...along with becoming a better, more knowledgable photographer.
